RPI freshman Grant O'Connor was named the Runner of the Meet and the Rookie of the Meet at the NYSCTC Championship after winning the two events in which he participated. On Friday, O'Connor won the 5,000-meter run with a time of 14:59.37, out-kicking 23 others, including the runner-up who finished nearly 10 seconds behind (15:08.22). The next day, he won the 3,000 with an 8:40.59. He defeated 16 others and the runner-up had an 8:40.47. The Engineers finished third of 13 schools with 126 points, just four from second place.
