In the Transit Trophy Game at WPI, RPI senior quarterback Jeff Avery completed 14 of 22 passes for 155 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Engineers to a 28-21 win over the Engineers. He had TD passes of 3, 5, and 27 yards as RPI built a 28-0 lead at halftime. He also rushed four times for 50 yards as RPI improved to 1-0 in league play.
