William Smith College senior defender Zoe Jackson Gibson led the Heron defense to three shutout victories this week and the Upstate Collegiate Cup Championship. Jackson Gibson and the Herons limited their opposition to a total of three shots on goal in their three games. In a 1-0 win on Tuesday night, Jackson Gibson and the Herons held Fredonia to just one shot on goal and four total shots. On Saturday in a 2-0 win over Ithaca, the Herons limited the Bombers to one shot on goal and three total shots. In a 1-0 victory over Rochester on Sunday, Jackson Gibson and the William Smith defense held the Yellowjackets to one shot on goal and two total shots. The Herons have earned four shutouts this season.
