University of Rochester sophomore quarterback Daniel Bronson compiled 335 yards in total offense and produced five TDs as Rochester defeated Catholic, 45-28, in its season opener. He hit 19 of 33 throws for 237 yards and three TDs (one INT). He ran 16 times for 98 yards and two TDs. It was the most points on opening day for Rochester in 123 years - since 1892 (46-0 over Brockport Normal). It was the most points in a game for UR since Oct. 15, 2011 (45-16 vs. Merchant Marine). He directed three TD drives in the fourth quarter that brought UR back from a 28-23 deficit.
