RIT's Varsity Eight of Erin Loughran (Newburgh, NY/Newburgh Free Academy), Arielle Weinstein (Athens, NY/Coxsackie-Athens), Sarah Foggett (Webster, NY/Webster Schroeder), Lindsey Schwartz (Rochester, NY/Gates-Chili), Taylor Blackwell (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford Sutherland), Cassandra Killion (New Plymouth, ID/Nampa Christian), Laura Alderfer (Sellersville, PA/Pennridge ), Brittany Dzugas-Smith (West Babylon, NY/Landmark) and Katie Baldwin (Phelps, NY/Midlakes) finished second in their morning heat to advance to the grand final at the New York State Rowing Championships. The Tigers, ranked 13th in the latest CRCA poll, were in a tight four-boat race in the grand final with No. 5 Hamilton, No. 8 Ithaca and No. 10 William Smith. RIT surged ahead of William Smith in the final strokes of the race to earn a bronze medal with a time of 7:12.430. Hamilton clocked a winning time of 7:05.200 and Ithaca finished second in 7:10.629.
