Senior back Jessie Tarantino helped to anchor a William Smith defense that earned shutouts in each of its NCAA tournament matches this weekend. The Herons defeated Lancaster Bible 6-0 on Saturday and blanked Wheaton 1-0 on Sunday. William Smith limited Lancaster Bible to just two shots on goal, and the Heron defense did not allow the Lyons to put a single shot on goal. William Smith has now posted 18 shutouts this season, setting a school record. With their two wins over the weekend, the Herons also tied the program record for wins in a season.
