University of Rochester sophomore Mario Yanez Tapia went 2-0 over the weekend helping the Yellowjackets defeat No. 1 Trinity and No. 12 Drexel. Yanez, playing at #1, earned the match clinching point on Saturday against the Bantams, topping CSA No. 25 ranked player Vrishab Kotian in five games, rallying from 2-1 down for Rochester's first ever win over Trinity. Yanez won 9-11, 11-7, 9-11, 11-3, 11-4. It is the second time this season that Rochester has defeated the No. 1 ranked team in the nation, as the 'Jackets won 5-4 over then No. 1 Harvard on December 7th. On Sunday, Yanez won in four games over Drexel's Atticus Kelly 11-1, 11-4, 4-11, 11-3.
