Freshman forward Hannah Wood scored four of William Smith's five goals in a 1-1 week for the Herons breaking two school rookie scoring records in the process. In Tuesday's 4-3 win over St. John Fisher, Wood notched three goals including the game-winner in overtime. In the ninth minute, Wood beat a defender and blasted a shot into the back of the net to tie the game at one giving her 39 points on the season one better than the previous best by a first-year. In the second half, Wood fired home a shot from right in front of the cage for her 18th goal of the season one better than her coach Sophie Riskie had as a first-year. On Saturday, against Cortland, Wood scored William Smith's lone goal of the game in the 33rd minute on a shot from the top of the circle. She leads the team with 20 goals and 45 points, both totals are greater than any three of her teammates combined.
