RIT sophomore Hailey Burkhart emerged victorious at the 2014 New York State Collegiate Track Conference Heptathlon held on Sunday and Money afternoon at Tiger Stadium. Burkhart broke her own school record of 3,975 points, by tallying 4,100 points in the seven events. Burkhart defeated second place finisher Kristen Pompey of Ithaca by 246 points and her score ranks as the 28th best in all of Division III this season. On Sunday, Burkhart posted the best time in the 100-meter hurdles, posting a time of 15.83 seconds. She was one of three with the fourth-best high jump of 1.42 meters, and had the second-best shot put with a mark of 9.79 meters. Burkhart finished the day with the best time in the 200-meters posting a time of 27.04 seconds. On Monday, Burkhart was third in the long jump with a leap of 4.93 meters, third in the javelin with a toss of 28.65 meters, and ended the day by winning the 800-meters in a time of 2:36.53.
