RIT senior Walt Roman drove in nine runs in four games, slugging .833 while batting .444 with two doubles, a triple, and homer for the Tigers in a 4-0 week. On Saturday, Roman set school records by hitting for the cycle, recording six base hits, scoring five runs, and racking up 12 total bases in a win over Bard. In his first at bat, Roman lifted a ball deep to left field that hit off the fence and allowed him to get to third for a triple. In the top of the third, Roman drove in a run with his double to left field, which at the time gave RIT a 2-1 lead. One inning later, Roman crushed a ball over the left field fence for two-run homer, before grabbing an RBI single in the top of the sixth to complete the cycle. Roman would add a single in both the seventh and eighth innings to make it six hits on the day. It was just the second time in school history a player had five hits in a game, and the first ever someone had six. It is also the first known cycle recorded at RIT through six decades of baseball. Roman finished the day 6-for-7 with five runs scored and five RBI's. On Friday, Roman hit a bases clearing triple in a win over Bard. He now has three homers and 18 RBI's this season.
