William Smith junior Margaret McConnell made the single biggest play of the match in No. 10 William Smith's 2-1 win over Ursinus. In a tied match, the Bears brought intense pressure in the second half, outshooting the Herons 8-2. Ursinus nearly broke the tie in the 54th minute, blasting a shot from the top of the arc that beat William Smith's keeper. However, McConnell was there to earn the defensive save, to set the stage for the game-winning goal nine minutes later.
