Rochester sophomore Wayson was 2-1 with a 1.75 ERA last week. She threw consecutive complete-game wins over Union and RPI, with 14 strikeouts in 20 innings pitched and allowed just two extra base hits. On Sunday, she scattered 9 hits, allowed four runs (two earned), walked three and struck out six in a 5-4 win over RPI that gave Rochester the regular season title. In that game, she was 2-3 at the plate, including a two-run single in the fourth that put Rochester ahead to stay, 5-4. She hit .333 for the week (7-21) and scored five runs.
