NYU freshman Elaine Tse earned medalist honors and led the Violets to the team title and a record-breaking weekend at the McDaniel Spring Invitational on Saturday and Sunday. Tse broke the school records for lowest individual round (71, shattering the previous mark of 74) and lowest individual 36-hole tournament score (147). That gave the freshman her first career tournament title, winning the invitational by an astonishing 12 strokes. Led by Tse, the Violets won the tournament championship by 74 strokes, shooting 642 as a team. The squad’s first round score of 315 tied the school record for lowest team round, while the 642 was the second-lowest 36-hole tournament score in program history.
