In four matches last week, RPI freshman Sherman Uyeno posted a 7-1 record. He was 3-1 at second doubles and 4-0 at fourth singles, helping the Engineers to a 4-0 record. In a 9-0 win over NAIA opponent Judson, Sherman won 8-3 in doubles and 6-4, 6-1 in singles. He then helped RPI to an 8-1 win over Division II St. Cloud State by posting wins of 8-6 and 3-6, 6-1, (10-2). Sherman had an 8-5 doubles loss and a 6-4, 6-3 singles victory in an 8-1 win over Franklin & Marshall and closed out the trip to Orlando with an 8-6 doubles win and a 6-3, 6-1 singles win in a 7-2 win over Illinois Wesleyan.
