Ithaca College junior goalkeeper Katrina Varnum and the Bombers sit at 4-1-1 on the season after battling a pair of tough opponents in the University of Scranton and No. 14 The College of New Jersey last week. Varnum made a season-best nine saves in the team’s 0-0 draw with Scranton on Wednesday. She stood tall against the nationally ranked Lions on Saturday, making five saves in a narrow 1-0 defeat, the first of the season for the Bombers. Varnum is tied for first in the Liberty League in shutouts with three while ranking second in the league in saves with 26.
