William Smith College junior defender Caroline Kogut had a big week for the Herons as they went 2-1, defeating SUNY Geneseo and Lebanon Valley and falling to Ohio Wesleyan in overtime. In a midweek matchup at Geneseo, Kogut scored the game-winning goal in overtime to lift the Herons over the Knights 2-1. She also recorded a defensive save in the overtime period to keep William Smith alive. In Saturday's loss to the Battling Bishops, Kogut recorded an assist on the game-tying goal to send the game to overtime. She closed out the weekend with a goal against the Flying Dutchmen in the 4-0 win. Through three games, Kogut tallied five points on two goals and one assist, recorded one defensive save and fired off seven shots, landing three on target. She will look to continue to lead a young Heron squad as it prepares for Nazareth and TCNJ this week.
