William Smith College junior forward Eliza Freeland had a big week for the Herons as they went 2-1, defeating SUNY Geneseo and Lebanon Valley before falling to Ohio Wesleyan in overtime. Through three games, Freeland tallied six points on three goals, including the game-winner against the Flying Dutchmen. She also fired off six shots, landing five on target. In the midweek matchup at Geneseo, Freeland scored the first goal of the game, giving the Herons the early momentum. She then scored twice in a 4-0 win over Lebanon Valley on Sunday. Freeland already has eight points on the season, surpassing her season totals from her first two seasons at William Smith. She will look to continue to be the offensive spark for the Herons as they prepare for two non-conference games this week.
