William Smith College first-year outside hitter Cassidy Breuer had another standout weekend for the Herons, who went 3-0 at the William Paterson Tournament over the weekend. William Smith defeated #22 Christopher Newport 3-1, Centenary (N.J.) 3-0, and William Paterson 3-2 to improve to 5-1 on the season. Through three matches, Breuer put down 48 kills (.213 hitting percentage), and added 28 digs, four blocks, four service aces and an assist. She averaged 4.00 kills per set, 2.33 digs per set and 4.50 points per set. Breuer opened the weekend with a season-high 19-kill (.176) showing against Christopher Newport. She added 12 digs for her second double-double of the season, and chipped in two blocks, two service aces and an assist. Breuer then recorded 11 kills (.167), 7 digs and one ace in a sweep of Centenary. She closed out the weekend with 18 kills (.286), nine digs, three blocks and one service ace against William Paterson. She currently leads the Liberty league in kills per set (4.22) and points per set (4.59).
