Ithaca College first-year player Zuri Freeman had a strong collegiate debut, battling her way to the C-flight finals at the Union Invitational. Freeman defeated SUNY New Paltz's Lula Brown-Vann in the qualifying round (6-3, 6-0) and St. Lawrence's Calle Perrin in the semifinals (6-4, 3-6, 1-0) before falling to SUNY New Paltz's Angelica Gabriel in the C-flight final (6-3, 7-5). She also paired with Madeleine Sutro for a third-place doubles finish, defeating Eva DeJesus and Delphine Larosiliere, 8-3.
