RIT graduate student Ryan Merkov earned a pair of wins to help the Tigers earn the 2026 Liberty League Championship title last week. The reliever tossed 5.1 innings in a 10-1 win over Hobart on Friday before pitching another 5.0 innings in the deciding Game 7 against Hobart on Saturday. Over the two games, Merkov held the Statesmen scoreless while allowing just four hits to go along with six strike outs and one walk. For his efforts, he was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Performer.
