University of Rochester junior Riley Laygo led the Yellowjackets to a 6-0 record last week to close the regular season. She hit .632 (12-for-19) with 10 runs, three doubles, one triple, four home runs and 12 RBI during six games this week. She added four walks and one HBP for a .708 on-base percentage this week to go with a 1.526 slugging mark. She was also 3-for-3 in stolen base attempts and handled 42 defensive chances cleanly. Laygo’s best performances came on Saturday against Ithaca when she went 3-for-4 with 3 runs, a home run and 3 RBI in game one and 2-for-2 with 3 runs, 2 home runs and 2 RBI in game two, helping the Yellowjackets secure the Liberty League regular season title and hosting rights for the conference tournament.
