University of Rochester junior Armaan Butler opened the outdoor season with a strong effort in the hammer throw, winning the event at the Rochester Spring Opener on Sunday. Butler’s top toss of 53.41 meters was a personal-best, an All-Atlantic Region qualifying mark, and currently the 17th-best distance on the Division III performance list this season.
