Vassar College junior Haley Schoenegge defended her national title in the indoor mile with a career-best time of 4:42.69, which marks her fourth career national championship. Schoenegge led the race from wire-to-wire and recorded a 33.46 last 200 meters to pull away from the pack and record the fourth-fastest time in Division III history. She closed her day with a 16th-place finish in the 3,000 meters to score second team All-American honors after crossing the finish line with a time of 9:53.08. Following the two events on Saturday, Schoenegge is now a nine-time USTFCCCA Track and Field All-American.
