Ithaca College graduate student Matthew Mitros had a career-best performance at the 2026 Liberty League Championship, where the Bombers won their first league title. Mitros earned three individual victories (50-yard freestyle, 100-yard butterfly, 100-yard freestyle) over the four-day meet. He also helped the Bombers earn wins in the 200 freestyle relay and 400 yard medley relay. They also posted runner-up finishes in the 200 medley and 400 freestyle relaya. His winning time of 19.92 in the 50-yard freestyle and the 48.38 in the 100-yard butterfly were NCAA B-cut times. The Bomber 200-yard freestyle relay also posted an NCAA B-cut time (1:21.27). He was named Liberty League Co-Swimmer of the Meet at the conclusion of the championship.
