Hobart College junior running back E.J. Taylor was named the MVP of the ECAC James Lynah Bowl after rushing for a game-high 172 yards and two touchdowns in a 42-14 victory for the Statesmen. Taylor had just 19 carries in the contest, averaging an eye-popping 9.1 yards per carry against a defense that came into the game allowing just 3.79 yards per carry. His touchdowns came from 10 yards and 18 yards out, giving the Statesmen leads of 14-0 and 28-7, respectively. This was Taylor's seventh consecutive 100-yard rushing game, giving him nine for the season and 18 for his career (5 away from the Hobart career record). He finished the season with a league-leading 1,354 yards which is fifth on Hobart's single season list, and 18 rushing touchdowns, fourth best by a Statesman in a season. His 19 total touchdowns rank second on Hobart's season list.
