William Smith College graduate student forward/midfielder Rebecca Mantione had a standout weekend for the Herons as they went 2-0 this weekend. The Herons defeated Gettysburg 5-4 in double overtime on Saturday before defeating Lebanon Valley 2-1 in a shootout on Sunday. The game against the Flying Dutchmen finished in a 1-1 tie after 80 minutes of play. In Saturday's come-from-behind victory over the Bullets, Mantione tallied seven points on three goals and an assist. After assisting the Herons' second goal of the game, Mantione gave William Smith all the offensive spark they needed. She scored two goals in the final 10 minutes of regulation to tie the game at 4-4, sending the game to overtime. Mantione then scored with just under three minutes remaining in the final OT to secure the victory for the Herons. In Sunday's thrilling win, Mantione scored the lone goal for the Herons as they rallied to defeat Lebanon Valley. It was the third straight game with a goal and fifth of the season for Mantione.
