Senior outside hitter Malya Sayre had a dominant weekend as the William Smith volleyball team swept Buffalo State, Hamilton and Alfred to move to 6-0 on the season. Through three matches, Sayre put down 63 kills on a .447 hitting percentage. She added 19 digs, 10 service aces and seven blocks in the wins. On the weekend, Sayre averaged 7.00 kills per set, 1.11 service aces per set, 2.11 digs per set and a dominant 8.67 points per set. Sayre was named the William Smith Tournament's Most Valuable Player after three big matches. She has recorded 20+ kills in three matches this season, including a 21 kill performance against the Bengals and a 23 kill showing against Hamilton. Sayre currently leads the Liberty League in kills per set (5.75) and points per set (7.03) and is fourth in service aces per set (0.75) and sixth in hitting percentage (.293).
