University of Rochester first-year athlete Emmett Hansen turned in another strong effort in the heptathlon, closing out the indoor season with a runner-up finish to teammate Gabe Thyne, scoring a season-best 4,661 points in the seven-event competition at the AARTFC championship. Hansen’s results included five new season-bests and top-4 finishes in the long jump, pole vault and 1000 meters. The score put the rookie at 35th on the NCAA Division III Performance List this indoor season. The first-year’s results added to Rochester’s team score and helped the ‘Jackets place fourth overall in the meet.
