William Smith College first-year middle blocker Arielle Newsome averaged 2.43 kills per set, 0.71 blocks per set and 2.79 points per set in matches against Union and Nazareth. Newsome put down 17 kills and combined for five blocks in the wins. She opened the weekend with a dominating performance against the Garnet Chargers as she put down a career-high 12 kills on an impressive .588 hitting percentage. Her 12 kills came off of just 17 swings. She also added four blocks in the conference win over Union to lock up the No. 2 seed. Newsome then put down five kills, hitting .385 and added one block in a sweep of the Golden Flyers.
