University of Rochester junior linebacker Daniel Santos had another terrific game on defense as the Yellowjackets moved to 3-0 on the season with a 28-6 win over Salve Regina in the 2024 home opener. He recorded five tackles (2 solo) and notched a 65-yard interception return for a touchdown, helping put the game away for UR in the fourth quarter. The interception return for a touchdown was the first since 2021 for a Rochester defender. Santos now has an interception in back-to-back weeks. Rochester’s defense as a whole limited the Seahawks just 233 yards overall (84 rush, 149 pass), and held them off the scoreboard until late in the fourth quarter.
