University of Rochester sophomore Molly Broccolo was outstanding in the circle as she helped the Yellowjackets claim their fourth straight Liberty League crown over the weekend. The sophomore pitcher was 2-0 and appeared in all three of Rochester’s games, adding a save in the championship clinching game. Over the three gamaes, she tossed 13.2 innings, finished with a 1.02 ERA and allowed just 11 hits and two runs while striking out four and walking five. She tossed a 7-inning complete game in the opening round against Ithaca, allowing just three hits and one run with no walks and two strikeouts. The next day she allowed three hits and one run over four innings in Rochester’s 10-1 victory over top-seed and host RPI in the winners bracket. On Saturday, she tossed the final 2.2 innings of Rochester’s 1-0 championship clinching win over RPI, surrendering just one hit and two walks.
