William Smith College first-year defender Janey Sypeck played a key role in a 12-9 win over MIT on Sunday. The Herons' defense limited a team that came into the game averaging 16.67 goals per game to just nine goals. Sypeck and the Herons also limited the Engineers to just 18 shots, the second-fewest in a game this season. Sypeck also had an assist on Katherine Murray's 100th career goal. It was Sypeck's first career point. She has 28 caused turnovers and 25 ground balls on the year.
