Player of the Year: Kai Yuen Leung, So., Skidmore College
Skidmore College sophomore Kai Yuen Leung was selected as the Liberty League Player of the Year. After playing in the fifth and sixth singles positions as a freshman in 2013-14, Skidmore College sophomore Kai Yuen Leung is one of the region's most improved players in 2014-15. Ranked No. 4 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Northeast Region singles rankings, Leung earned an invitation to the NCAA Division III Singles Championship in Mason, Ohio. He has compiled a 17-8 overall record, including a 12-4 mark at first singles. Along with going unbeaten in Liberty League play, Leung picked up wins over regionally ranked players from Amherst, Williams and Stevens.
Co-Rookie of the Year: Steven Koulouris, Fr., Skidmore College
Skidmore College freshman Steven Koulouris was selected as the Liberty League Co-Rookie of the Year. Playing primarily in the No. 3 position in the Skidmore singles lineup, Koulouris, a three-time Liberty League rookie of the week honoree, compiled an 11-11 overall singles record, including a 9-9 mark in dual-match play. He was 6-1 in Liberty League singles play and 5-2 in doubles play. Along with doubles partner Nick Tong, Koulouris advanced to the doubles final of the ITA Northeast Championship in the fall. The strong early showing gave Koulouris and Tong a No. 22 national doubles ranking at the time.
Co-Rookie of the Year: Tristan Wise, Fr., Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
RPI freshman Tristan Wise was selected as Liberty League Co-Rookie of the Year. Wise played in the No. 3 position the entire year in the RPI singles lineup and was unbeaten in Liberty League regular-season play at 6-0. Overall, he compiled a 12-10 singles record, including a 9-7 mark in dual matches. A three-time selection as Liberty League rookie of the week, Wise also compiled a 12-3 record at second doubles along with doubles partner Alain Grullon Gonzalez.
Coaching Staff of the Year: Skidmore College – Nate Simms, Head Coach
Having to replace the team's top four singles players from a 2014 squad that advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division III Championship, Skidmore head coach Nate Simms guided his young squad to a 7-0 record in Liberty League regular-season play, a second consecutive league title and a No. 30 national ranking. With a squad consisting of no seniors, three juniors, two sophomores and three freshmen, the Thoroughbreds earned their eighth straight NCAA tournament bid. Simms is assisted by Eric Friedman.
