2017 Liberty League Women's Indoor Track & Field Awards

Track Performer of the Year: Megan Kellogg, Jr., St. Lawrence University


St. Lawrence University junior All-American Megan Kellogg was selected as the Liberty League Track Performer of the Year. An NCAA All-America in the 5,000-meter run, Kellogg finished seventh with a time of 17:04.32, which is nearly a minute faster than the second-best time in the league this season. She also anchored the Saints' distance medley relay squad to an All-America performance with a 4:53 split in the 1,600-meter leg, passing three other competitors to move from 10th place to seventh. Kellogg also posted top Liberty League times in the 3,000 (9:54.69) and mile (4:59.08) while recording the second-fastest time in the 800 (2:20.05). The Liberty League champion in the mile, Kellogg was named Liberty League track performer of the week three times.

Field Performer of the Year: Jessica Calzolari, Sr., Rochester Institute of Technology

Rochester Institute of Technology senior Jess Calzolari was selected Liberty League Field Performer of the Year for the indoor season. An NCAA qualifier in the pentathlon, Calzolari finished 16th. The Liberty League field performer of the meet at the league championship, Calzolari won both the long jump and triple jump and was second in the 60-meter hurdles in helping the Tigers to their first Liberty League title in any women's sport. During the season, she broke RIT indoor records in the high jump (1.61 meters) and triple jump (11.42 meters). Named to the USTFCCCA All-Atlantic Region team in the pentathlon, Calzolari was a three-time selection as Liberty League field athlete of the week.

Rookie of the Year: Laura Gardner, Fr., St. Lawrence University

St. Lawrence University first-year athlete Laura Gardner was selected as the Liberty League Rookie of the Year. Gardner was selected as the rookie of the meet at the Liberty League indoor championship after winning the 60-meter dash in 8.27 seconds while recording a fourth-place finish in the 200-meter dash. Her time of 8.24 in the 60 at the NYSCTC Championship was the second-best performance among Liberty League athletes and the fastest among rookies this season. A two-time selection as Liberty League rookie of the week, Gardner also posted the league's third-best time in the 200..

Coaching Staff of the Year: Rochester Institute of Technology – Dave Warth, Head Coach

Rochester Institute of Technology head coach Dave Warth and his staff have been selected as the Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year. Warth guided the Tigers to their first Liberty League title, which was also the school's first women's title in any sport since joining the Liberty League in 2011-12. RIT finished third at the NYSCTC Championship and shattered five different school records during the indoor season. Warth also coached two athletes who qualified for the NCAA Championship meet in Jess Calzolari and Emma Jones.
