Skidmore misses cut in NCAA championships
HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. – For only the second time in 26 years, the Skidmore College golf team missed the cut at the NCAA Division III championship. The Thoroughbreds shot a second-round 306 for a two-day total of 615, playing on the Las Colinas Course at the Mission Inn Resort.
The 41-team field was cut to 15 teams for the final two rounds. Skidmore missed the cut by 13 strokes. Host Oglethorpe continues to lead with 285-292—577.
Prior to Wednesday’s round, Skidmore’s Garrett Colgan, Anthony DiLisio, and John McCarthy were selected to the Ping Division III All-Northeast Team.
DiLisio and Zach Grossman were the team’s top finishers, tying for 69th. DiLisio shot 77-76—153, while Grossman had the team’s low round today with 75 for a two-day total of 153. John McCarthy was one back in 82nd with 76-78—154. Garrett Colgan tied for 104th with 79-77—156 and Peter Anderson tied for 124th with 78-81—159.
